Ongar’s Famous Carnival will be making a stately but noisy and colourful procession along the High Street on Sunday 27th June.  It is organised by the lads of Ongar Round Table and the action starts at 12:30. 

STOP PRESS:  John Sear  Estate Agents are announced as the main Ongar Carnival sponsors.  Other sponsors are Battelle UK Ltd, SJM Alloys & Metals Ltd, Noble & Taylor, RJ Bradshaw LLP and Cargo Granite.

“This year’s Carnival promises to be even better than last year and a great family occasion.” said Joe Shearer (Chairman), “We’re getting as many local organisations as possible including bands, clubs and youth groups to join in and have fun -  and of course we’ll be hoping for some balmy British Summer weather to bring out the crowds!”

 

As with last year’s successful parade there will be giveaways, great music and dancing, even more fantastic floats and the lovely Carnival Queen and princesses.

Santa's Sleigh Collection 2009

Many thanks to all the kind residents of Ongar and locale who donated Santa's Sleigh collection this year.  We collected around £2,000 which was distributed as vouchers to those in greatest need in the Ongar area. We are very grateful to local retailers who have helped voucher recipients redeem our Round Table Christmas vouchers.

Ongar Fireworks Spectacular

Ongar's night sky will once again be lit up by sensational starbursts and rocked by big, big bangs on Friday the 5th November 2010 in a Guy Fawkes celebration at Chipping Ongar Primary School in Greensted Road.   

About us.....

We are a small friendly group of like-minded local businessmen and professionals who enjoy a beer, a laugh and like to do some good for the community of Ongar and surrounding villages.   We're proud to be organisers of the Ongar Carnival, Ongar Fireworks Spectacular and Santa's Sleigh Run.  

How about trying our Beer Challenge or the Sports Evening ?  We have games nights, socials, business meetings and trips away as well as run events for the local community and for our own families and friends.

Why are pirates called pirates ?   Because they aaaarrrrrrgghh !

We meet twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays. If there is a fifth Tuesday in the month then we sample the hospitality of Ongar's surrounding villages.  A full programme is planned every March for the forthcoming year so there is always plenty to do.

We usually gather at the Two Brewers, Greensted Road, Ongar.   For details of our forthcoming activities, please see our Calendar page or contact our Chairman. 

Round Table makes no distinction between colour, creed, religion, political persuasion, wealth, social standing....in fact we don't even mind what football team you support!
