Banners, posters, flyers. We could use some large banners and flags to advertise our events and help attract people to our fete stalls. We also need to produce and print flyers and posters for our Carnival and Fireworks events.
Raffle, Carnival and Draw prizes. These are used to raise fund for charity and can be almost anything so long as they are new or unused, legal, safe and reasonably non-perishable. Vouchers for local retailers are popular, as are bottles of wine and spirits, luxury items, electronics such as TVs or cameras, chocolates, novelties, childrens toys etc.
Beer, wine and soft drinks. We run usually run beer tents for our own events or events which we have been asked to take part in such as the COPS school fete. We can always use donations of in-date beer, wine, Pimms and soft drinks.
Paper cups and plastic glasses. We get through quite a lot of these when we run a beer or drinks tent. Pint and half pint ones are good and we need insulated ones for mulled wine.
Sweets. We give out sweets to children at some events such as Santa's Sleigh and they're useful for the Carnival too. Donations of in-date lollipops, small bags of sweets and such like will be gratefully accepted.
Sponsorship. Some events such as the Carnival and the Fireworks give us the opportunity to get sponsors in return for some advertising on flyers, posters and programmes or provide us with free advertising. We would particularly welcome references to our website address www.ort.org.uk on your company or personal website. See our sponsors page.
Publicity. We always welcome local businesses or organisations that can give us some good publicity by allowing us to place a poster on their premises, sell tickets for events or help us get a mention on the radio, TV or in the press.
A generator. We often need to hire or try to borrow one for an event, so if anyone has one they don't want or could maybe lend us one at certain times of the year, we'd be really grateful. Also a lighting rig and a PA system.
Walkie talkies. We can occasionally borrow these from members, but if anyone has a set they don't need then we'd be happy to take it off their hands. We need the type that doesn't require a license.
