Children in Need Collection 2009

Guildford and Godalming Tablers helped relieve commuters of £1000 at Guildford Railway Station for Children In Need in the space of 2 hours, helping to contribute to an overall total of £66,000 raised on the night by Tables across the country. Nick Downing squeezed into the Pudsey outfit but was rewarded with plenty of attention:

Movember in November
Goldaming Round Table transformed into the Village People by growing moustaches in November in the name of raising money and awareness for the local 'The Prostrate Project' charity. Please donate at their Justgiving page  to compensate them for the ridicule and scratchy faces, though they did get personal services from Anthea Turner in their removal :

Stonking 'win' at National Sporting Weekend

An amazing effort by the 41 Area 3 tablers who attended Nottingham produced another second placing (behind the hosting Area again...), with trophies won in no less than 3 events - Swimming, Cross Country and Tug of War, which produced the defining moment of the weekend when the team lost the toss and pulled the favourites uphill for a second time - never has a winning team looked so knackered, nor an opponent so despondant (and that was only the semis..).

The organisation was top notch and the credit goes to Will Inglebey and his Area 14 team for a brilliant weekend.

150 miles before a Sporting Weekend - now that's what you call warming up ...

Area President Neil proved he's not as old as he looks by cycling the 150 miles from Guildford to Nottingham in time for the National Sporting Weekend, raising money for Disability Challengers. In spite of torrential rain for the last few hours, he pedalled the distance in 9:05 hours and was even capable of standing up the following day to participate in the sporting challenges. He raised over £2000 for Disability Challengers (based in Stoke Park, Guildford) and is looking forward to a shorter ride to NSW Colchester next year.
