Don't be a stranger!

August 2008: We have now sold out of en-suite rooms for NSW2008. For a short time, Tablers will be able to purchase Standard rooms (£175 for a 2 night package, £145 for the 1 night package including gala dinner).

August 2008: NSW2009 will be held in Colchester at the University of Essex Campus between 4th and 6th September 2009. This event - The Gladiator Games - will be organised by a team from the mighty Area 33 - a Round Table area with a long and proud history of sporting achievement, gladiatorial combat and organising really good stuff. Please visit their website at www.NSW2009.co.uk and get yourself booked in for the great Round Table event of 2009!

August 2008: Please note that we have sold over 90% of our allocation of en-suite rooms for NSW2008. The last few remaining en-suite rooms will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once these have been sold, Tablers will still be able to purchase Standard rooms (£175 for a 2 night package, £145 for the 1 night package including gala dinner).

June 2008: As the price-increase approaches, NSW sells over 200 packages in six days to push bookings up towards the 500 mark by late June. This booking surge is unprecedented in the history of the event and demonstrates that enthusiasm for NSW2008 is sky-high!

May 2008: Click here to download the NSW2008 3 minute promotional video (about 28Mbyte). This version has been prepared for general distribution. If you would like to see the 'director's cut' as shown at the National AGM in Leeds, please drop us a line and we'll send a chap along to show it at your Area meeting.

March 2008: The Sheriff of NSW Nottingham never ceases to be amazed at the different ways that people find to do strange and funny things in Nottingham. Recently, the world record for getting dressed up as Robin Hood has been smashed in Nottingham by a group of enthusiasts including some Area 14 Tablers with pretty much nothing else to do.

Over a thousand volunteers led by the modern-day Sheriff of Nottingham (yes - there really is one, AND she's a woman!), gathered at Nottingham Castle to try and pass the previous total of 607.

Participants had to meet minimum costume requirements of a hat with a feather, a green or brown tunic and trousers and leather footwear, many also wore tights.

The official count, taken at noon, put the total at 1,119. The Sheriff, in mythology and legend, Robin's sworn enemy, wore a costume specially designed and made by Nottingham City Council's Children's Services costume department. Prizes were awarded in a number of age categories and a medieval band kept people entertained.

If you haven't had enough Nottingham sport by Sunday 14th, why not enter yourself in the Experian Robin Hood Festival of Running? A perfect way to end a great sporting weekend? (discuss!)
