About Our Table
What does Wallington & Carshalton Round Table do?
The focal point of Round Table is its regular meetings. We meet every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. This day proves popular as it's a time when most people are free. We meet in the evening through a variety of events almost always with a meal.
At Wallington & Carshalton Round Table we are proud to have a fantastic social calendar. We pride ourselves on doing activities that many of us would not have done had it not been with a group of like minded mates. We are not particularly fit just keen to try out new challenges. Have a look at the Calendar to see the exciting events that are going on this year.

Visitors and potential members will always be made particularly welcome as Round Table provides an ideal opportunity to establish new friendships.
What kind of activities are there?
The sky is literally the limit when it comes to the numerous activities that Wallington & Carshalton Round Table members find to take part in. Here is a small sample of events that we've done in the past 2 years just to give a taster of the great activities that we get up to:
-
Gliding, Indoor Wall Climbing, SAS Survival Training
-
Go-Karting, Quad Biking, 4 wheel Drive, Bucking Bronco
-
Laser Quest, Archery, Knife Throwing, Rifle Shooting
-
Scuba Diving, Sailing, Canoeing, Water Skiing
-
Ten Pin Bowling, Snooker, Five A Side Football, Golf
In fact, the only limit is your enthusiasm, so if there's something that you've always wanted to do then Round Table is the ideal chance for you to have a go. That's why our unofficial motto is: 'We don't just sit there'
What about social events and the family?
Social events and outings are a frequent and popular way of bringing Round Table members and their families together. These are organised at both a local and national level. At Wallington & Carshalton we have a number of events involving the family including our Fireworks Dinner, where after the hard work of putting on one of the South Easts largest fireworks display we all take our families, friends, partners etc out. We also often have a Black Tie Dinner each year known as our Ladies Night. On top of that there are many other less formal events from quiz nights through to the Round Table National Conference......the list is endless!
Sporting traditions of Round Table...
Inter-club and regional sporting competitions can play an important part in the Round Table calendar, with members taking part in many sports, from the traditional 5-a-side football through to the less traditional such as our Single Club Golf competition. We are not particularly fit so all abilities are welcome - our aim is simply to have some fun with friends.
How does Round Table help in the community?
The main aim of Round Table is FUN and meeting people from all walks of life, however, Round Table is also well known for organising novel fund-raising events which form an important part of its activities.
With an emphasis on local and practical help, service within the community must be fun whether it is car parking at local carnivals, organising Christmas collections or outings for disabled children or the elderly. Round Table has assisted many National Organisations such as Guide Dogs for the Blind, NSPCC, RNLI and the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Appeal. Over the past years Round Table has donated more than £7,000,000 to the BBC Children in Need appeal alone.
Specifically Wallington and Carshalton has supported many very local charities across a wide variety of needs. We are very proud of the support we give the local community. Our largest event for raising funds for those in need is our annual fireworks display. This attracts nearly 15,000 local people. We build a huge bonfire made from thousands of discarded pallets. We launch an enormous fireworks display. Over the years Wallington & Carshalton Round Table have given away hundreds of thousands of pounds to very local charities.
